I would like to give a warm hello to you and introduce Debi and myself. I am Marnae Weisenburger and I have had the awesome opportunity to work in the Young Women Program for 18 years. I think I have held every position you could in the program in the ward and stake and have loved it with all of my heart. I love the youth of the church and my heart goes out to them in this time of their lives. The youth of the church have their own special corner of my heart. "Teenagers just need a caring adult to look past them being a teenager and love them anyway" is what I live by.
I have had the opportunity to serve as the Primary President in my ward. For a short time before I was called as President, I served as the Primary Chorister and as the Primary Pianist. I have come to love the Primary children and the Primary Program and looked forward to attending and receiving their love every Sunday. I was released as the Primary President and sustained as the Young Women President on the same day. Boy was that an emotional day. I was excited to be back with the youth again but missed the primary children tremendously.
I have a wonderful husband that is supportive of all of my whims. I love him with all of my heart. I am the type of person that has to be going and doing something all of the time and I appreciate him being the calm in my life. I have three wonderful children; two daughters, Kaysi and Paige, one son, Mason and one adorable granddaughter, Emma.
I was raised on a farm in Idaho where I was taught hard work. I graduated from Ricks College after which I worked on campus as the Religion Department Secretary, a memory that will stay with me for life. I love to read, tole paint, play the piano, sing, lift weights, run and ride my road bike with my husband.
I have a very strong testimony of the Gospel and love my Father in Heaven and Savior Jesus Christ with all of my heart.
Now, I would like to introduce you to my dear friend, Debi Neibaur. She was raised in the Los Angeles area. She loves the sunshine. She and her husband are the parents of 4 children. Debi served in the young women program for 5 years. Before that she served in the Stake Primary for 6 years and in various ward primary positions.
She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Chicago, Illinois area where she met her husband. (hmmmmm I have always wondered about them oÜo Just kidding) She was a great missionary and I love to hear her stories about her mission. I learn so much from her.
She attended Weber State University and Pasadena Art College of Design. She said that when she was a little girl she always had a pencil and piece of paper in her hand. (Her mother thought she was too much like Picasso because she was such a mess.) As an adult she is a very creative artist. I love to watch her draw and have learned so much from her. She is amazing in everything she does. It is not unusual for her to stay up ALL night (I mean like not ever going to bed) drawing things for sharing time or a lesson that she has to give. She just is --well-- amazing is the only word to describe her.
She is very spiritual. I am in awe of how well she knows the scriptures. She has always had a strong testimony of the Gospel and loves her elder brother Jesus Christ.
Debi and Marnae
As you can probably guess by now Debi is the artist and I am the business organizer. I draw a few things but when it comes down to it I say "Debi, draw me a...." and there it is. Just as adorable as can be. We met after we both married farmers from American Falls, Idaho.
After we met we realized how we had much in common and instantly became friends. We have done many things together and one thing led to another and ta daaaa - "DebaNae's" (our names put together) was created. We have a great time when we're together. (Debi's husband David thinks we have too much fun and gave us a curfew. oÜo) We often joke that we were suppose to be sisters but that would be too much for one mother.
Our goal in life is to be two little old ladies, drinking our hot chocolate (with peppermint patties melted in it, of course -- YUM!) laughing and giggling as we create.
